Life Lately

Cadence is really starting to get a little mind of her own and quite the vocabulary.  She is hilarious and I find my self in true side splitting laughter lately.  Not even kidding she just walked up to me and after a minute of translating toddler talk she says " I want a pupppppyyy".  Emphasis on the y!  No child we are not getting a puppy!  This was all after she stole half my fruit off my plate for breakfast!

Needless to say my days are fun and my heart is full!

Mornings with Cadence

One of my most favorite times of day is in the morning with Cadence.  There is just something about walking into a room, your kiddo standing at the edge of their crib with a big smile on their face because they are so happy to see you!  Then she is so cuddly!  We watch a few episodes of Wally and Guppies.  This lasts till she is "I hungyyyyyy".  Then it's breakfast and get ready for our day!

Crockpot Chicken and Rice

Mondays are long days for me.  I have worked all weekend and sleep is hardly seen.  The last thing I want to do is make dinner.  So thank goodness for the crockpot.  Who invented the crockpot anyway?!?!  I could kiss em!

Crockpot Chicken and Rice

4 Boneless skinless chicken breast
Packet of Ranch
Carrots (bag of fresh baby or you could use frozen)
Corn (freezer bag)
Rice (2 cups)
1 Can Cream of Chicken soup
Salt and Pepper
Parsley
Onion powder (1 tbsp)
Garlic Powder (1 tbsp)

I used 4 chicken breast from Trader Joe's.  That's another person I would like to kiss.  Thanks Joe!  I put them in crockpot and covered with ranch packet then added enough water to slighlty cover chicken.  Cook on low for 6 hrs.

Then shred chicken in crockpot, add your cream of chicken soup, corn, carrots, cheese, garlic powder, onion powder and cook on high for 1-2 hrs.  I made the rice and sat aside so it wasn't too soggy if I added it dry to crockpot.

After cooking for 1-2 hrs add rice, mix and then add parsley, and salt and pepper to taste!

Enjoy!

A new year, a clean slate!

I always love this time of year when everyone has such good intentions and everything feels like a clean slate.  I always make resolutions.  I think it's in my OCD nature.  It's fun to make the cute list and really plan out the next year. I am religious about starting each year by cleaning and organizing the house but first we have to have the annual Good Luck Rubens!

There is just something about a clean house, organized fridge and dinner in the crockpot!

Welcome 2015!!

Cheers to the New Year!!
